In case you don’t know Casa Mezcal, this is a great Mexican restaurant in the middle of Lower East Side. While I did not had the opportunity to taste the food on the ground floor (apparently very good), I spent a bit of time in the Botanic Lab, located below CM. An amazing cocktail bar, serving the finest drinks based on Tequila and Mezcal (not only). Definitely a place that you need to test if you are around the area !

Casa Mezcal is the vision of Guillermo Olguin and Ignacio Carballido of a place that could bring Oaxaca to New York City. A portal to the rich cultural and culinary traditions of this southern Mexican region. Casa Mezcal was conceived to be a host of great food but also a house for Los Amantes, a brand of a high class Mezcal created by Carballido and Olguin.

It didn’t take long until their good friend David Zahabian, a clever entrepreneur and succesfull New Yorker join their quest to build this home. Casa Mezcal opened its doors in 2010 and it has been a fun road this past 6+ years. Where we have hosted several art shows, fundrasing events, performances, theater plays, comedy shows, weddings, birthday parties, and of course serving great food and the best mezcal drinks of nyc.

Our vision has always been to show Oaxaca’s heart in its purest form . Through it’s flavors and aromas, colors, sounds  and of course it’s sacred spirit… MEZCAL.
